Flu season is almost here!
Flu vaccination appointments are now available to book for eligible patients!
Invites will be sent out in batches, to manage demand, with invites being sent to our oldest and most vulnerable patients first.
Unfortunately, due to circumstances out of our control, we are having to cancel flu vaccination clinics on the 11th, 12th and 13th Sept.
- Appointments booked after the 13th September may also be impacted by this delay. Please keep checking the HMG Facebook page and website for further updates.
- PLEASE do not contact us to rebook your appointment, we will contact you as soon as we have more information and are able to rebook clinics.
- If you have already received your ‘flu ticket’ in the post, keep hold of this as it will remain valid for your new appointment.
Last year we piloted a successful drive-through service at Hereford Livestock Market and this way of delivering the flu vaccine is returning for 2021! In addition, for those without transport, we will run a walk-through service outside of Station Medical Centre for flu appointments. We will also offer a service for housebound patients.
We are expecting are first delivery of flu vaccines in early September 2021.
Flu vaccine and coronavirus (COVID-19)
Flu vaccination is important because: if you're at higher risk from coronavirus, you're also more at risk of problems from flu if you get flu and coronavirus at the same time, research shows you're more likely to be seriously ill it'll help to reduce pressure on the NHS and social care staff who may be dealing with coronavirus
If you've had COVID-19, it's safe to have the flu vaccine. It'll be effective at helping to prevent flu.
What to do when you have received your invite?
Please use the NHS app or your online service provider, to book your appointment slot. Only contact the surgery via telephone if you do not have access to the internet.
