From the 1st August 2022

BACK TO MAIN INDEX

From the 1st August 2022 Patients will no longer be able to request prescriptions via telephone

  • This decision has been made to ensure that Hereford Medical Group offers a safe and efficient prescription service. We understand that this decision will be disappointing for some patients.
  • The difficult decision to close the prescription line was made by the GP Partners in the interest of patient safety. The decision has been made following guidance from NHS England and it will allow HMG time to accurately review and safely order medications for all patients.

Patients can request medication in multiple ways:

  • NHS app – HMG recommend downloading the NHS app as a quick and safe way to order medication
  • Online Form – patients can submit medication requests by completing the online form: Repeat Prescription Request
  • By paper – patients can post medication requests to the Surgery or bring these into Station Medical Centre, please post requests to Station Medical Centre, Station Approach, Hereford, HR1 1BB
  • Via pharmacies - many pharmacies have their own ordering service for patients.  Please speak to your regular pharmacy who can advise you.

We understand that a very small number of patients will not be able to request medication in the ways listed above and that they will not have a family member, carer or friend who can order on their behalf. If you believe you are in this category please let a member of our prescription team know before the 1st August and the Surgery will ensure there are appropriate arrangements in place to ensure you can continue to order medication.
