Sometimes you may be offered a test in the surgery and be unsure what the test is actually for. Click here to access Lab Tests Online-UK, a useful site to help you understand the many clinical laboratory tests used in diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of disease.

Lab Tests Online-UK is written by practising laboratory doctors and scientists to help you understand the many clinical laboratory tests that are used in diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of disease. It is produced by the Association for Clinical Biochemistry and Laboratory Medicine in collaboration with the AACC and support from the Royal College of Pathologists and the Institute of Biomedical Science.

If you know the name of the test you can search for it on the site or you can search under conditions and diseases and find information on laboratory tests used for particular diagnosis and/or management.
