The Baton of Hope 2025
The Baton of Hope stands as the UK’s largest and most ambitious suicide-prevention initiative, representing a powerful and rapidly growing movement dedicated to the long-term goal of creating a zero-suicide society. This organisation works to bring people together, raise awareness, and inspire meaningful change in how the nation understands, discusses, and responds to suicide. If you’d like to explore their full vision, guiding principles, and the breadth of their mission, you can find more detailed information on the official Baton of Hope website.
In 2025, the Baton of Hope undertook a significant and highly visible tour across the UK. This nationwide journey was designed not only to spark essential conversations about suicide but also to encourage open dialogue in communities that might otherwise struggle to address such sensitive topics. The tour aimed to reduce the stigma that so often surrounds discussions of mental health and suicide, while fostering solidarity, compassion, and unity within the wider suicide-prevention community. Through public engagement, shared stories, and collective action, the initiative sought to create a stronger, more supportive national network committed to saving lives.
The Baton of Hope has completed its journey through Hereford, and we are so grateful to everyone who came out to support, cheer, walk, volunteer, and share in this moment of connection and hope.
To continue the baton’s legacy, we’re keeping this page open to showcase the commemorative video from the day, highlight important information and give thanks to the baton bearers, local organisations, community groups, schools, volunteers, and the public for making it so special.
