Travel Vaccinations

Please note: Due to Covid-19 we are not carrying out any travel immunisations at this time

Our practice nurses are available by appointment to offer medical advice regarding travel and vaccinations where appropriate. Please telephone reception to book an appointment.  Please complete this Travel Risk Assessment form to send to the nurse who will produce a personalised vaccination schedule for you.

Please be aware that there may be a charge for the vaccinations - to check, please contact the surgery before your appointment. This can only be confirmed once the nurse has seen your questionnaire and ascertained which vaccinations are required.

Do plan ahead! Please note that we require at least 6 weeks’ notice before you travel to ensure that there is sufficient time for you to be seen and obtain the correct advice.  If you travelling sooner than this, then we are not able to guarantee that you can be seen.

If we are unable to offer you an appointment in time for your travel, then there are other places that offer travel advice and vaccinations. Please note that entry on this list is not an endorsement of the clinic by Hereford Medical Group.

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.

It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.

Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
