NHS 111 – option 2 for crisis mental health support
Posted on:
There is now a simpler way for people to find the right support in a mental health crisis.
If you or someone you know is going through a mental health crisis, you can now dial NHS 111 and choose option 2 for round-the-clock access to mental health crisis support.
The service will still be managed by your local NHS mental health trust – it’s simply a new number to call.
To ensure you get the help you need, a mental health advisor will speak with you, asking questions and listening to understand your situation. They can provide self-care advice, connect you with the crisis service if necessary, or refer you to other local support services.
