Armed Forces, Veteran & Military Family Support

Armed Forces Covenant – Bronze Award

Hereford Medical Group is proud to support our Armed Forces.

In 2024, we demonstrated our commitment to supporting veterans, their spouses, and families by signing the Armed Forces Covenant.

At HMG, we also pledged our support by joining the Defence Relationship Management’s Employer Recognition Scheme, a program that encourages employers to support the defence community and motivates others to do the same. This scheme offers awards to employers who commit to, actively support, or champion defence related causes, aligning their values with the Armed Forces Covenant.

In October 2024, Hereford Medical Group received the Bronze award in recognition of our dedication to supporting veterans, their spouses, and families.

Non-urgent advice: Important

It is important to tell us if you are a military veteran so that we can make sure you are able to access specific veteran’s health services.

Who is defined as a veteran?

A veteran is someone who has served in the armed forces for at least one day in the regular or reservist forces. There are around 4.5 million veterans in the UK.

All veterans are entitled to priority access to NHS hospital care for any condition as long as it is related to their service, regardless of whether or not they receive a war pension.
